St John, the Evangelist Ward- Ward Feast

The Ward Feast of St John, the Evangelist Ward was celebrated with extravagant means at the residance of Mrs Syra Sequeira at Kannur. The programme began with the marvelous introduction of the families in a unique way by the Gurkar of the Ward Mrs Lilly Pais Siji. Annual report was presented by the Secretary of the Ward Mrs Cecilia Crasta. Children were awarded for their talents and excellence in education. Actor Mr Elton Mascarenhas of ‘Nachibaso Khel’ fame was felicitated for his achievments as a choreographer and his contribution towards Konkani cinema. Mrs Syra Sequeira was felicitated for her service as the ward representative for 5 years and for providing the venue for the programme. Mrs Philomena Pais was felicitated for her responsibility of preparation of the delicious dinner. Mr Valentine Crasta and Mr Vernon Crasta were felicitated for thier selfless service in the church as well as in the ward activities. Mrs Lilly Pais Siji was felicitated for her service as the ward Gurkar and taking the ward to a greater heights. Parish priest Rev.Fr Victor Machado congratulated all the ward members for their efforts in organizing the programme. Asst. Parish priest Fr Anil Lobo emphasized on the importance of being attached to the church as well as using the opportunities given to us. Fr Paul Prakash appreciated the systematic organization of the programme and congratulated the ward members for the distributed work approach.

Children and elders presented an alluring exhibition of talents in the form of dance, comedy skits and melodious singing. Vice-President of Parish Pastoral Council Mr Praveen Patrao, Secretary Mr Micheal D’souza, Coordinator of Small Christian Community Mr George D’souza, sisters of Bethany Convent Sr Jessy Leena and Sr Rita Felcy were also present. Mrs Reshma Cutinha thanked the gathering and all the people responsible for the organization of the programme. Mr Vernon Crasta anchored the stage programme and the cultural event was anchored by Mrs Syra Sequeira.
